Where most people start

Does this sound familiar?

You're short with the people you care about most, and you hate it.

You're running on empty, and rest doesn't seem to fix it.

You know what you should be doing. You just can't make yourself do it.

Your thoughts won’t shut off, especially at night.

You replay conversations, second-guessing what you said.

You're stuck in the same emotional loop, over and over.

If a few of these landed, you’re in the right place. Here’s what usually turns out to be going on.

Why integrative

You’ve tried the therapy and the meds. The missing piece is how it all connects.

Most people arrive having done the right things, and still feel stuck. Usually it’s the connections no one mapped: stress spiking cortisol, cortisol wrecking sleep, poor sleep feeding low mood, foggy focus, and weight. We look at the whole loop and treat it together.

How your symptoms connectSix interconnected concerns (anxiety, mood, focus and ADHD, weight, energy, and sleep) radiating from a central "whole person" hub, illustrating that they are treated together rather than in isolation.

Anxiety

Anxiety drives cortisol, which disrupts sleep and weight. We treat the whole loop, not one piece.

Test, don’t guess

GeneSight genetic testing and labs may help show how your body processes medication. It is one of the things we weigh, alongside your history and how you respond.

Treat the system

Mood, focus, sleep, energy, and metabolism are addressed together, not as separate problems.

Feel it early

Early traction you can actually feel, with a foundation built for lasting change.

A bedside nurse’s approach

Care for high-responsibility lives

Care from someone who gets what you’re carrying.

Sixteen-plus years at the bedside, in critical care and psychiatric units, taught me how easily any of us put ourselves last, and how much changes when someone finally listens. Our sessions are conversational and collaborative: we reflect, make sense of the patterns, and find a rhythm that works for you, with always a little room for laughter.

A great listener — listens with interest and intention. When he replies, you know you were heard. I’m grateful to have found him, especially since finding in-person care is difficult.
J.W., Google review
I came in with an open mind and really listened. I felt comfortable and opened up to get the best out of therapy. I’m still using the advice he gave me — it’s a working process for a better mind and life.

Questions

Questions, answered.

How is this different from traditional psychiatry?

Longer, unrushed visits and a whole-person approach. We connect your mental health to sleep, focus, energy, and metabolism, instead of treating symptoms in isolation or rushing you out in 15 minutes.

Do you take insurance?

In-network with select insurance plans. Contact us to verify your benefits. Some clients choose to pay out of pocket instead, for more privacy and flexibility. We'll work out which makes sense for you on the free call. The FAQ page has the full picture on deductibles, superbills, and sliding-scale fees.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes. Charles sees patients in person in Brea and by secure video across California, so care fits your schedule.

What happens at the first visit?

A thorough, unrushed evaluation of your history, symptoms, and goals, then a clear, collaborative plan. It all starts with a free 15-minute call.

What do you treat?

ADHD, anxiety, depression, burnout, sleep, and related concerns, plus integrative and metabolic support (GeneSight testing, functional labs, GLP-1 and peptides) when clinically appropriate.

What is GeneSight genetic testing?

GeneSight is a cheek-swab test that may provide helpful information about how your body processes certain medications. It does not choose the medication for us, but it can be one tool we use alongside your history, symptoms, side effects, and goals.

Let’s figure out what’s really going on, together.
